he left Medan to Padang on 28th September for his business trip. then he went to Bukit Tinggi on 30th September, the day when the 7.6SR earthquake happened. Usually he left Padang to Bukit by 14.00 or 15.00 bus. But on that day, he also doesnt know why he chose the 13.00 bus and he arrived Bukit at 16.45 while the earthquake is at 17.15. it means that he arrived just 30 minutes before the earthquake. I cant imagine what will happen to him if he is still on his way to Bukit.
Bukit Tinggi also got the effect of earthquake. He said that the floor swings hardly and he cant easily walk. The lamp post waves like coconut tree in the middle of the wind. Everybody is panic and try to escape. Nobody can make phone call. The city is waving for around 5 minutes.
Yesterday papa decided to go home. So early in the morning he buy the bus ticket to go back from Bukit to Padang. But then he stuck on his way back. There is a super heavy jam because of the landslide. And here is the pic he took.
After 2 hours jam-ing, the bus driver suggested him to continue his way back by ojek. He also help papa to find an ojek. Then papa’s suitcase is tied in front of the motorcycle. And they need 1.5 hours to reach Padang’s airport and it costs Rp. 150.000,-. *Actually the ojek-boy just asked for Rp. 110.000,-*
At the airport, papa meet lots of people who are going to leave Padang as well. Since the disaster come, Padang is just like a death city. No water, no electricity, no food. No reason for them to stay longer there.
Thanks God again for blessing papa. Luckily he is home…. =)
